Harris-5000/6000

  • Developed by Harris (GE Harris), Harris-5000/6000 supports communication between a SCADA system and RTUs of the same denomination. It has been widely used in North America and comes in several variants:

    • Harris-5000
    • Harris-5500
    • Harris-6000

The main difference between these versions is the extended address range in Harris-6000.

Harris-5000/6000 operates in half-duplex mode based on the master/slave principle. One master can communicate with up to 63 RTUs, while each RTU only responds to explicit requests from the master.

Harris-5000/6000 does not support quality identifiers, transmission of time stamps is however possible.
