Our ipConv protocol converter is used to couple the DAS (Data Aquisition Server) and the QD2 gateway. Communication between the protocol converter and QD2 gateway is implemented with the QD2 protocol. Communication between the protocol converter and the DAS runs via the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol.
Redundancy in communication terminal devices was a major requirement for this project. Integration of redundant lines to the DAS and redundantly operating protocol converters were installed at the plant.
Our proprietary CS channel switch enables the physical connection.
If the active protocol converter or the line fails, the channel switch automatically activates the other protocol converter or line.
Channel switch control is automatically realized via the protocol converter.
