'SISA' stands for 'Supervisory and Information System for local and remote
Area' and refers to a communication network for controlling and monitoring
telecommunication facilities such as SDH, PDH multiplexers. SISA/QD2 is a
hierarchically organized network dispatching information between network
elements (NE) and corresponding operation systems (OS).
SISA/QD2 was standardized by the FTZ (German Telecommunication Engineering
Authority, now ZZF) as per the FTZ standard N 13-5.
Its physical interface is called QD2.
