Sinec-H1 is an Ethernet-based protocol that executes the transport layer
function. Developed by Siemens, it is used for telecontrol. Its large bandwidth
makes it ideal for the transmission of large data volumes.
It is based on the ISO/IEC 8073 standard which defines different transport
methods. Sinec-H1 applies class 4 (CONS or Connection Mode Network Service).
This protocol has no application layer, which is defined in a project or
product-specific way. The application layer protocols XMAT and Simadyn-D need
to be mentioned in this context.
