The following security enhancements of the protocol stack IEC 61850, Server are supported according to the standard IEC 62351:

  • IEC 62351-3: encryption of telegrams using TLS protocol with X.509 certificates to protect the transport layer. The TLS versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 are supported. Version 3 of the X.509 certificates must be available. These certificates may contain RSA, DSA and ECC keys. The configuration enables renegotiation of the cryptographic parameters on a condition (time / data / number of telegrams), data size limitation of the remote station certificate, minimum size of asymmetric keys, several certification authorities to check the remote station certificate and an extendable list of encryption procedures supported.
